Type: Part-time volunteer
Reports to: Mentor Manager
Term: 6 months (1 cohort)
Full Description
It is preferred that you have previous experience mentoring or managing in a formal or informal way.
Ability to build a strong relationship and trust with an individual that likely has a different background than yourself. Schedule weekly meetings with your mentee and spend a minimum of 1 hour per week communicating with your mentee for the duration of the program.
Your role is to act a guide and coach, and to be their first point of contact for the program. Your goal is to connect your mentee to appropriate learning resources and/or people to help them achieve their career goals. Your primary objective is to assist with career and personal development.
Your role is not to be technical expert or to get hands on with any specific component of the Power Platform/D365. You obviously can if you want to but that is not a requirement. You can set the expectations with your Mentee. If you’re not knowledgeable in the area they are asking about, suggest that they reach out to the trainers for that topic, the list of trainers and contact info is available on the Teams site. Also point them to resources available only (people, blogs, social, podcasts, etc).
Provides TechFluent leadership with feedback on the program so that we can continue to improve.
Currently working in or have previous experience in the D365/Power Platform or M365 industry.

Time Commitment
1 to 2 hours per week for the duration of the cohort
Attends prep session pre-cohort kickoff in late Feb/early March (approx. one 90-minute meeting)
Attends retrospective post-cohort graduation (approx. one 60-minue meeting) or completes feedback survey in Aug/Sept
Attending Cohort Kick-Off and Graduation ceremonies are optional but encouraged
