Working in the Power BI Service

The purpose of this training day is to give participants a strong understanding of the Power BI Service. Learners will be able to articulate what work is best done in the Service and what work is best done in the Power BI Desktop. They will be trained in best practices in sharing reports (e.g. controlling “security sprawl”) within the organization. They will understand the constraints imposed by licensing. They will be briefed on Power BI Premium, when and why Premium is necessary.

Topics will include, but are not limited to:

  • Apps (using and creating)
  • Setting a refresh schedule
  • Editing reports and dashboards
  • Creating a dashboard
  • Creating a workspace and assigning roles
